Dear Family, Friends, and Community,
I'm writing this today in hopes of gathering support for my dad, Jose. For the past six years, he's been battling interstitial lung disease - a condition that is “often irreversible and gets worse over time”.

He's been under evaluation for a lung transplant for a few months now. His condition has been deteriorating more recently and has lead to hospitalization several times in the past few months - including now as I write this, he's in the ICU for the second time this year.

Our hope is that my dad will be approved to be added to the transplant list in the next few days. After many conversations with doctors, all signs are currently pointing towards an approval. Prayer is appreciated for this step. 🙏

Because a majority of the care is happening in San Antonio (3.5+ hours from where we live) and because of associated medical costs, this process has been and will likely continue to be costly for our family.
